The Akorn Kamado Kooker Charcoal Barbecue Grill and Smoker weighs in at 90 pounds making it almost 3 times as heavy as the Original Weber grill. This is a triple skinned grill with superb insulation, the inside is porcelain coated steel while the outside steel is powder coated. The BBQ is 24.8 inches wide,  28.7 inches high and 21.6 inches long.

The cast iron grill has a cooking surface area of 306 sq inches but there is also a removable warming rack that sits over the top of the grill that adds another 165 sq inches.

The hinged lid is also insulated and has a large easy to grab handle at the front. There is also an adjustable damper on the top of the lid for easy access to help control cooking temperature. You will also find a built in thermometer to check the temperature at any time without lifting the lid.

The side of the bowl has 2 fold up metal shelves for a bit of extra work space. The heavy duty steel legs make this a sturdy unit and with two large wheels at the front and a smaller locking castor on the rear, you are able to move this grill around to your ideal cooking location.

You will find an easy access ash pan on the bottom of the bowl and also another air damper to help with air flow in the kettle. This helps to keep the temperature constant between 200 – 700 deg F, ideal for slow smoking or high heat grilling.

Overall the Akorn Kamado Kooker is a well built barbecue with some good features for efficient, easy smoking and grilling.

If I could give more than 5 stars I would. This is a best cooking grill we have ever owned. And we have owned many..

The best grill I’ve ever owned had about 5 years I liked so much I actually purchased a second one to keep at the lake, everyone just loves the smoky taste of the meats.
